The Brand Story of PUMA
In Germany, the “Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik” (Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory) was established in 1919. The majority of German athletes wore Dassler spikes during the 1928 Olympic Summer Games in Amsterdam, which marked the brand’s global breakthrough. “PUMA” was formally filed with the German Patent and Trademark Office in 1948.
Level Up On The Playing Field
From team sports, like football and rugby, to individual sports, PUMA supplies athletes with the best equipment on the fields, tracks and courses. Off the field, PUMA’s belief that sports is a lifestyle is seen in their stylish sports apparel designs that can be worn anywhere, anytime.
Practicing Sustainability Through Sports
As a sports company, PUMA recognises the importance of sustainability in sports. They recognise shortcomings and strengthens them towards the goal of sustainability. PUMA sports believes in integrating sustainability into every aspect of the manufacturing processes for all products – from sourcing raw materials to the manufacturing stage, both socially and environmentally.
PUMA understands the importance of creation to level up on sport performance and to keep moving forward, grounded by science. At PUMA Innovation there are five ethos that drive innovation: be a pain, be connected, be brave, be open, be ready. To create a final product, designers talk to athletes, look beyond their scope and adopt a human-centered backpack for women focus in their designs.
Reform, Equality for All
Because PUMA is committed to leveraging its platform to promote change and does not accept racism, discrimination, or police brutality, the company created the hashtag #REFORM to combat social injustice. PUMA donates to organisations and projects that promote the Black Lives Matter movement in an effort to empower all Black voices in the workplace.
